Woman Launching Web business
"Using experience as her guide, Franklin entrepreneur Cindy Hadfield
is starting QuikProof.com, which will use the Internet to automate
the duties of distributors for printing companies.
As a distributor for printing companies for more than five years,
Hadfield knows the hassles of the profession. She's handled hundreds
of faxes each month from her customers whose information she then
sends to printers. Printers then send the checks directly to her
customers.
However, with QuikProof.com's Web technology, a company can enter
information on a distributor's custom site before it's sent on
to the printer.
"It's saving the distributor a lot of time and aggravation," Hadfield
said.
With distributors as customers, she hopes to make $2.5 million
in revenue this year.
Hadfield hopes this company will be successful enough to support
a second business, Miss Peach Teaches, which she started last year
to distribute training materials. The training eventually will
cover everything from computer software to elementary math - and
she hopes to move this to the Web in the next few months.
She added she had no revenue projections for this company.
Meanwhile, she is closing down her distribution business, she
said. Although it grew to about $250,000 in sales last year from
$180,000 in 2002, it would present a conflict of interest to sell
software to distributors while she competes with them.
